Small market town in the north of the county. The town lies close to the River Waveney - which forms the border with Norfolk - and on the River Dove. It is home to a large number of listed buildings and historic structures, with the Town Hall and Guildhall both dating back to Victorian and Medieval times. The castle, one of the few surviving motte-and-bailey castles from the early Norman period, is visible from various points in town.
